we dont want a landline so we have bought a tesco internet phone which costs 2p per minute to landlines (we will be low users)
does anyone know how much it will cost someone on a normal BT line to call our internet phone? i cant find anything to say it will cost anymore than a normal call charge for them .
We all have mobiles at home with various low rates or free minutes, so dialling out will not be an issue, its just the incoming costs for others that i want to clarify .
Thanks

If you don't have a landline, how are you going to have ADSL broadband to hang the Tesco thing on?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

If you've been given an 01 or 02 number (which they offer 'free') then it's whatever BT charge to call regular 01 and 02 numbers, it's just like any other 01 or 02 number, be it a BT number, cable number or VoIP number. On the BT weekend plan then weekend calls to the number are not charged and so on.
Tesco VoIP is one of the dearest VoIP providers for outgoing calls. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
The cost for others to call you could be as low as zero provided they download the tescointernetphone client onto their PC. You could call them for free as well.0

Could also be zero if they have inclusive calls, as Tesco usually issue an 01 or 02 number. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Yeah. just a normal charge as if a regular number, so if the caller gets inclusive weekend calls, then there's no charge at weekends, if inclusive evening and weekend calls, no charge in the evening and weekend and so on.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
