RBS was processing my claim last year, and claimed that they would respond within 6 weeks. Low and behold (and surely a surprise to RBS...) in week 5 the FSA announced that there would be a waiver and all claims suspended forthwith.
Most of my charges accrued when I was a student, so at the back end of the claim. As c.6 months have expired since then, a lot of these charges will now fall outside the 6 years.
Can I keep the claim as is, or would I have to adjust the claim to exclude any charges which is now outside of the 6 year period? I don't find this fair, as I feel RBS misrepresented to me when they would respond, knowing the waiver would be forthcoming.

As I understand it you will keep it as it was, though if it wasn't i think the phrase would be wanting to have your cake and eat it. Better something than nothing ay0
