I can understand having more than one current account if they offer a particular feature - I have a Halifax Reward account that I use simply to get the £5/month reward, and a Metro Bank account for commission free cash withdrawals abroad but I'd never carry more than one debit card around with me. The Halifax debit card is always in the filing cabinet and the Metro Bank debit card replaces my First Direct one when I am out of the UK.

I can't see any particular benefit to those 6 accounts above - half of them look like basic accounts anyway!

Well, the Santander card isn't embossed which usually means it's issued on a basic account and the Barclays card hasn't got contactless which also usually means it's a basic account. The point is, none of those banks offer anything worthwhile!

I have a Santander Preferred in credit account and got an un-embossed debit card (Have this for 5% interest, £100 cashback & £60 Quidco).
I also have a First Direct account which is my main account, a Co-Op account for cash deposits at the post office, a Halifax Reward for free fivers and a HSBC account which I have before FD and still occasionally use.
I also have a Vanquis credit card & a First Direct credit card.
