HELP
do i need martin for this one ?
citicard - i paid off £1000 as extra payment to keep my avail credit high for holidays. They agreed that they would hold the direct debit the next month so that it wasnt duplicated.
they took £1000 again in error - so i got them to agree to CHAPS it back at their cost cos their error.
they now have a month later put account in "float" status cos they say i reneiged ? on direct debit !!!
this means they sit on a payment for 10 days before applying it BUT NOT ONLY THAT - they add the that payment to the purchases whilst they wait 10 days effectively strangling the credit limit.
ie credit limit £2000
yesterday buy tv £1000
this morning i can still spend £1000 but if i debit card that £1000 instead of avail credit of £2000 i have avail credit of NOWT !!!!

Sounds like strange treatment but I once had a problem with them keeping a payment in abeyance for 10 days or so. They said they would credit the payment to my account immediately if I obtained a letter from my bank (and faxed it to them) confirming the payment came from cleared funds and would not be recalled.
It's a bit of a bind but it might be worth enquiring if this would apply in your case. I think I actually got my bank to fax the letter direct to CB.0 -
john - can you think of anything out of ordinary you had done that might have invoked this , did it continue for 3 months or so. how long were you with them b4 it happened and how long after did you continue normal business0

Sorry for the delay in response.
Yes, it was an unusual circumstance - I had written a cheque on the account and had arranged a balance transfer to another card to offset. Unfortunately, the transfer arrived before the cheque was debited and put my account in credit. They were not very happy with that - thought some sort of fraudulent activity was going on.
I'd had the card for quite a while before - it was the credit balance that caused the problem.0 -
I have very often done the same thing with another cc co, ie written out a cheque and then transferred the same amount to the card co. The transfer has arrived before the cheque has been presented and have ended up being 7k in credit but this company have never caused me any problem. I deliberately have not named the company because I do not want some of the thickies trying it out.0

Helen,
You really have got to try and like yourself. How can you like anyone else if you hate yourself. You will in time extend beyond your one liners and may be
you will be able to formulate a paragraph.
I am now going on hols (holiday to you) and on my return will check this bb and look forward to some constructive comments from you. Now go away and stop being a big girls blouse.0 -
