Trademark Question

It's not very often I come up with a good idea, but I have and want to pursue this online venture.
I'm after some advice on trademarks, what would happen if I purchased a web domain name, lets say for example (I don't want to give too much away at the moment) I could secure liverpoolfcprogrammes, where my site would sell liverpool football clubs programmes throughout the times.
Am I breaking any laws and would it be best to secure a web name without liverpoolfc in the title.
thanks in advance

Hi,
You may have 2 problems here. If your company contains a trademarked name that you make profit from then you may be stopped from using it or taken to court. You also run the risk of losing any domain that includes a trademarked name. I'd suggest you consult your local businesslink office as to how to proceed.
ps. If you are going to sell LFC back programs do MSE's get a discount?0 -

Although domain names can help a bit getting sites listed it is a fairly minor issue. I would go for a domain that will avoid possible problems of using liverpoolfc - ideally something easy to remember and spell, and then make sure the pages in your site have good individual titles, h1, h2, etc. tags and a good density of keywords in the text. You may well in the future decide to diversify what you offer and you don't want to be stuck with a restrictive domain name.
My site is under a domain that is a general name and sells lots of different items. Most of these list well as each page is geared to particular keywords that people might search for. If you are offering niche items it is not too hard to get well listed.
There have been quite a few threads here on web site optimisation, listing with Google, etc. so have a search for those.0
