Cleaning a conservatory before selling house

Hello,
I have just had a quote for cleaning the conservatory before we put our house on the market. The quote is £130 does this seem reasonable??? The conservatory is 10ft x 12ft flat roof.
He will also do all the windows and doors for £40 as we dont have a window cleaner.

What's he doing them with?
That's a lot of money.
Surely it would take:
- a good pressure washer outside and an hour.
- half an hour polishing the windows
- pressure wash the floor in the conservatory
So half a day's hard graft and a half day steamer hire
At that price I'd want him to lick the whole structure clean.
"we don't have a window cleaner" ... a bottle of window cleaning solution and a couple of rags. Or some white vinegar, newspaper and a buffing cloth. Although if you meant you don't have a bloke with a ladder that comes round and does them all, then grab a neighbour's one. For a total clean it shouldn't cost more than £10. I had a big house, the window cleaner wanted £5 to do my windows and said if I had them done regularly then he'd start off by giving the window surrounds/sills a thorough cleaning too to set them off.0 -
that is very expensive.. Last time I had the windows in my house cleaned (£20) he charged me £5 extra to include the conservatory (inside, outside and the double patio doors leading to the conservatory). That did not include the roof, which I used to do myself with a broom, water and patio cleaning products.0

Look around for other local window cleaners in your area, and get them round to give you a price, or ask your neighbours for any recommendationsBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100/100miles

Sorry, I can't help on this subject. I'm a Mortgage Adviser and according to Martin I earn soooooo much money that when my conservatory windows get dirty I simply sell my house.

Being serious now, it does sound a bit expensiveI am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -

The way the market is going I'd consider finding a window cleaner, you might need to clean your windows from now on.

We pay £8 for our window cleaner to do all the windows, including the conservatory on our 4 bed detached house! What on earth are they quoting that much for, even with the insides of the windows too it is really steep.
Our window cleaner takes £5 extra every spring to clean the roof too which is not flat.0 -
We don't have a conservatory so cannot help there but we do have a window cleaner who charges £7.00 to clean the windows and doors of our 4 bed detached!!!

I know what I am talking about.........it's just that nobody else does!0 -
Our window cleaner charged £30 for our house - but we do have a lot of glass! However, since finding MSE I have started doing them myself - at least the ones I can reach!

Wondering how big you need to be charged £30, must be a huge house. We have a large conservatory, 3 sets of patio doors they clean, it's a 3 bed detatched so lots of normal windows (inc some very large ones) I thought £5 was expensive until now, I used to pay £3 :rotfl:One day I might be more organised...........
