Awarded bank charges but not allowed to withdraw it!

Options
Last July, our bank, Natwest, awarded us a goodwill gesture of 788 pounds (sorry my pound sign has disappeared from my keyboard). This amount has gone into an account which is only in use for myself to pay back my bank loan and no money is allowed to be withdrawn. So even though we have been given our money, we are not under any circumstances allowed to have it even though they have stated that they dont want it either. We have obviously been to see our bank manager about this and have even suggested they take the said amount off our bank loan, but they will not do so. This money has now been sitting in our account for 10 months. We are now awaiting the outcome off an ombudsman we contacted last November. Has anyone else had this trouble and have any suggestions as to what we can do?
