Hi,
There my already be a thread about HIPs, but I couldn't find it...
Can anyone share any advice on getting a HIP commissioned? My Estate Agent seems to think it's absolutely useless, as no solicitor would rely on the searches included in the pack, so.....
I was thinking of ordering one through one of the websites that offer really cheap ones; - has anyone used one of these?
Thanks!

Your Estate Agent might need to be reminded that, regardless of what they think of HIPs, it is their legal duty to ensure that a HIP has been commissioned BEFORE they can start marketing your house! My Estate Agent seems to think it's absolutely useless, as no solicitor would rely on the searches included in the pack, so.....
As for finding a supplier, just google HIP and you'll find dozens. Other posters have made suggestions and there have been lots of comments about quality, so it would be good to search these threads again to save yourself time. I'll try to come back later with links.
Expect to pay anywhere from £200-£400 but there are lots of providers at the lower prices.0 -
