Was wondering if anybody that repairs tv's can advise me what the problem is with my tv set and if it would be worth while having it repaired or just go tv-less until I can afford a new one?
I have a Panasonic Quintrix 32inch (model number TX 32DK1) have had this for a number of years
but recently its developed this very annoying fault ~ every time I turn the tv on it shows a light blue screen with white horizontal lines across the screen then it turns off, after about an hour or so of constantly pressing the on button it decides to work albiet breifly then goes brighter again and turns off.
Cannot afford a new tv at present & was wondering if anybody on here could advise me if this would this be expensive or not to fix, and what the problem is, as if I call out a repair man I dont want to get duped into having repairs done that arent necessary.(Not that I am in the least bit suspicious of repairmen
) I just dont wanna get told its something expensive to fix if its not
Thanks for any help that can be given

Symptoms can possibly indicate the tube having a "leakage" cathode to grid, but can be due to faults in the sync circuitry. Any competent dealer with a tube tester will be able to give you a definite answer quite quickly. It's going to cost you at least £40+ to get the dealer to look at it, then the cost of repairs on top of that. You and you alone can work out whether it's time to call it a day and buy a new one, good luck................0

Whatever the problem is, do NOT try to fix it yourself. TV use and store very high voltage, enough to kill you.0

my advice would be if you could afford it,get a new telly, because most people are working with LCD and Plasma you will find not many quality technicians to get it repaired at a resonable cost. I had a issue with my Hitachi 32 inch widescreen and the quotes i was getting were so different.0

Stick it on ebay, might get £50 - £100 for it which could 1/4 go towards a budget 32".0
