Experian flagged my work as good credit....

We (my work) had a call from a company yesterday stating that we had been flagged by Experian as having a good company credit history and therefore they could offer us many credit products.

Is this normal? Do credit companies get credit check lists. I thought that Experian etc.. only give out information when searches are done. Or is this just a way of getting out attention?

Our company isn't looking for finance at the moment, so is this 'cold call' ligit?

Why don't you just ring Experians customer services up and ask them. Ask to speak to a manager as they should know if it happens. If so, go directly to them through the official numbers, that way you know you aren't being scammed by some company claiming to be Experian.

I deal with Experian in a work's capacity (a program called Citizen View that is basically the credit-expert facility but to check on other parties) so it seems plausible they are touting for business!
