Yes - unless you have actually had other addresses where you may have lived/carried out business, just put your home address again.
Wait until you go to Court to sign and date.
Anything that needs changing then will be done by the Clerk so it will be fine.
    Don't worry.

Yep, I found it very confusing.. ended up only putting in the address bit and asking the clerk for help with the rest of it. She smiled and said I wasn't the first and definitely wasn't the last that needed her help :)

This did delay me a bit though so fill in what you can!

Agreed it is easier online than writing..for me it was easier than trying to read my handwriting! and the fact the forms the court sent me were almost impossible to read due to a dodgy photocopier..

if you decide on the filing in online option make sure you save your work often as the website can crash sometimes meaning what you've typed you will have lost

I noticed in your previous thread that you've just decided to go BR, as posters asked there.. have you taken advice from one of the free debt advice places?

The judge will usually want to see that you have as it is a big decision to go BR.

My judge actually said that she could see i'd taken advice from CCCS and as such she would grant my petition... she could have potentially refused it if I hadn't taken advice!

Its annoying though to fall at the first fence, and its about the most complicated part of the form.
Hardly a contender for the 'Plain English' awards:rolleyes:

I have spoken to many debt advisers and when I mention the 'self employed partner' & me not working I have been told BR is our best option.

I have been on the cccs site and filled in the debt remedy & was given this reply:
As you are - or have recently been - self-employed, we are
unable to take you through the CCCS Debt Remedy process.
However, to find out how we may be able to help,
please call us to speak to one of our debt counsellors.
So TBH I didn't think they could help anymore than the other debt councillors I have spoken to.

At least you've had some advice then! :) .. just wanted to check ;)

I thought CCCS had a new specialist self employed bit now? maybe mistaken though

  • Hi Sunk.

I'm sure the CCCS would have been able to offer you more advice, if not Business Debtline can help.

Some judges like to know that you've taken advice so you are aware of the implications of going BR. Some judges have been known to insist on it.

As long as your comfortable with the advice you've had and are aware of how BR goes then thats fine, but if at any point you need more advice, even after BR then call one of the free debt charities (cccs, CAB, National debtline, Business debtline)
