Can anyone recommend a good garden shredder

Hi

I want to buy a good garden shredder.
We have a lot of bushes and also conifer trimmings, that are difficult to get rid of (without lots of trips to the local council tip)
Would like some recommendations please.

    Bosch AXT Rapid was Best Buy in Which? recent tests. About £160

    Bear in mind that home shredders can be quite time-consuming to use, so look at the specs and decide whether the models you're looking at will do what you want. I gave mine to the mother in law, but my tip is only 250 metres away!

    I got a "silent" one from wickes for £99.00 last year. Worth looking to see if they are still doing it. Chops up to 1" thick, will do thicker but it strains it a bit.

    I have used many over the years and by far the best for me is the Bosch ATX silent range. The gear or screw type not the impact type.

    There is a useful short article on them here but as usual shop around for prices;

    I've got a Bosch AXT, it is great with woody cuttings and dryish long stemmed Autumn cuttings. It uses a rotating screw/worm drive thing to chop the waste and will do wood up to about an inch.

    Not so good with fresh leafy cuttings, they can get stuck and need pushing into the screw/worm drive.

    It can turn a huge pile of garden waste into a couple of trugs worth of soil enriching mulch in an hour.

    A nice little machine.

    This is the one I have, pricey here though, I picked mine up in a clearance at B&Q for £90.
