Why do people bid for things they have no intention of buying!!!!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! Ebay really annoys me, Im selling a catering trailer on ebay and it sold the other day.... Now I have heard nothing from the winner tried to contact him through his contact details and the number is no valid!! He has no feedback which I should of put on the auction proir to selling.
I thought when you bid on something you had to pay for it why dont ebay sort this out as it really does my head in!

Perhaps it was someone who also had a trailer for sale, and deliberatly torpedoed your sale?

Ebay can be a bit of a minefield sometimes...

hmmm similar problem watch just sold and just seen the buyer is from india and his last two feedbacks have been negs on watches and he hasnt paid!! strange, I dont know how they can be bothered, feedback score is 50%... nevermind i'll have to relist and do a chargeback, and maybe another neg will finish this joker off.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here.
You cannot prevent zero rated bidders from bidding on your auction, unless they do not have a credit card on file (however I think all new registered users have to have a CC added when they register).

If something is worth a fair amount of money and it's a BIN, then you can set as 'immediate payment required'.

Otherwise on an auction check they have a confirmed address. No confirmed address then start a dispute. You can also report them for incorrect details as the phone number is not valid.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

In answer to your post question:

Because they have no morals and have been raised by parents who have not explained the difference between right and wrong. Although extreme I would cut their hands off to stop them using Ebay for ever (he he)

You can block certain bidders who give you grief, to make sure they can't bid on your items again.
Someone wanting a trailer or other large item might only use eBay as a one-off and, having bid on your item, seen something better elsewhere and just abandoned the transaction. Depressing, eh?
