Pollen filter thingy on my car

I had my car serviced two days ago and when OH collected it for me the garage said that something on my pollen filter was broke and something wouldn't screw in. OH asked him if it was covered under warranty (car is 2 year old) and he said no and that it wasn't important. OH meant to check it out but he's been working since so has forgotten.

Anyway tonight the HO of the garage rang me to see if I had been happy with the service I had received etc, were they polite, was my car returned clean etc. I then remembered my pollen thingy and asked her about it. She didn't know what it was either and told me to ring the garage back to see if it was covered under warranty. I asked her to check it out for me as she was customer services etc. but she said she couldn't.

So, what is my thingy and is it covered under warranty. I have a Fiesta Style 2006.

Thanks.

    Pollen filter casing/cover.
i would be taking it back to be repaired under warranty,if the rain gets in it may cause the car to smell damp, cause windows to mist up,or as some have mentioned on here that the carpet inside gets damp if it isnt sealed properly.

I just replaced mine the other day did it myself but a slightly worried about there being no seals between the grill pollen filter and the windscreen. I just used some mastic temporarily. Ordered a new seal last night

Seems to be a problem with seals on these Fiestas (could be different on different years)

    What to Watch Out For

Make sure drain channels in front doors are properly stamped out of the pressing and are free flowing. Pollen filter seals may not be correctly fitted and lead to flooding of passenger footwell.

I had water in my passenger door a few months ago. I took it in and they said it would take 5 minutes to sort out. I asked what had caused it, I had already read about the problem on the web, and they were vague about wax seal moving etc.

Pardon me if I'm a bit confused  . If you thought there was something wrong with the pollen filter and/or housing a few months back, why did you not report it then, or ask them to look at it whilst it was in for the service two days ago?

The water in the door was taken in as a specific fault a short while ago.

I booked in for a 2 year service 2 days ago. I didn't know anything was wrong with the pollen filter, I didn't even know I had one. Upon collection from the service the garage mentioned the filter but OH in a hurry as he was on way home from work and was fobbed off.
