Hi there sorry was not entirely sure where to post this thread. Im currently having some buliding work done and require a skip. I have had one quote for a 2 week hire at £203 + 40 permit cost. I was wandering if anyone can reccommend any cheaper skip hires. Your help woulf be much appreciated.

Check your yellow pages or use yell.co.uk or thomson local directory.
Make sure to check that included in the cost of hire is the required licence to park the skip outside your property; otherwise you could find yourself on the wrongside of your local council.0 -
Ask the builder what size you need - very easy to order one too big or too small.
You'll also find that if it's outside overnight it'll be half full by morning with your neighbour's cr*p. If your builder has a cover or something to try and stop this then so much the better.0 -
skips where I live are quite cheap if you're just putting one type of rubbish in it, i.e. rubble. It's the mixed waste ones that are expensive coz apparently they have to sort it out to unload. What are you having done? any chance of taking any other stuff to the tip yourself (or squashing it in your wheelie bin, making sure the lid is closed of course)! Call of Duty widow :rolleyes:0

Why do you need it for two weeks? We rip out, store everything neatly and then order a skip when we have enough for one. Skip arrives morning, gone by afternoon. Costs more like £100 hopefully and (not sure if this is all areas) you don't need a permit if it's only for the day.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
