After The Event Insurance

Hi everyone,
I am sorry to have to ask this question. I have recemtly fallen victim to an accident at work.
Given that the acident has left me quite badly disabled and possibly unable to work. I felt the need to make a personal injury claim. I was under the impression that my legal cover sold to me by various companies. With my car insurance. Home insurance ect, would cover my claim. I have just been informed that this is not the case. The broker who sold us the policy God rest him has died and his office claims no knowledge of cover.

Oh well my dilema now is that i need to take out AFTER THE EVENT insurance.
What should i expect to pay and should i take the policy offered by the solicitor or buy elsewhere?

PLEASE HELP ME !

If you are a member of any Trades Union you should be covered for such legal expenses in your subscriptions, is this an option for you, also if your case is without precedent you can often get free legal support to pursue it if you know where to look

I work for a legal expenses insurance company, who would handle your claim whereby the after the event insurance is provided for at no cost to yourself, if you are interested send me a PM

If only i had known i may have taken your kind offer. However i do have a solicitor working for me now. I just need to know what to expect regards costs for one of these after the event policies. I thought my home insurance legal cover was adequate but they have said no. Turns out my broker didn't send them the paper work and he's dead now so no come back on that one either. My year just gets better and better.
Once again thank you for you help.

Ask your sol, he/she should have told you when you signed his/her conditional fee agreement, whether he/she was charging you a fee for an after the event policy.

It was never mentioned at the time we were all under the impression that the legal cover taken out with the house ins would cover it.
So i was wondering what to expect and if these insurance policies are different in any way or if they come with different levels of cover for different rates ect.
I need to know that i am being looked after. I have a family and only enough in the bank to pay the bills for a cpl of months. I don't want to get in debt trying to get the compensation. Does that make sense?

Sorry to waffle, but i am worried sick !
