sky+ question??

I have a sky+box that I no longer need, my friend has an old dinosaur sky box from moons ago and wants my box. Will she be able to use it with just the single cable from the dish or will she have to get new cabling installed. Also will she need to ring sky to pair the box with her card??

If she has premium channels she will need the card pairing to the new box.

With only 1 satellite feed she will be limited with the functions.

Watch one sky channel
Record one sky channel
Record one sky channel whilst watching something off the hard drive.

She would need a twin or shotgun cable and a twin or quad lnb on the dish to have multiple signals.

I have Sky+ HD with one feed. She will be able to pause or record the channel she is watching but not watch another channel whilst doing so.

Somebody on another forum or maybe it was this one told me to set a manual record and set it to record any channel everyday for 24 hours. This uses up the feed you don't have which enables you to use the EPG to record stuff. It works no problem. You should also turn off Sky anytime if the Sky + box has it.
