John Lewis vs Primark

The luxury range of towels in Primark are a steal at £7 for huge bath sheets and the quality compares favourably to those on sale in John Lewis.
I've used them a couple of times and they wash very well, I can't believe it.
I will admit to cutting the labels out though :rotfl:

Keep us posted...
My experience of cheap towels is they're great for a month or two, then lose their absorbency.
My experience of Primark products is that they're fine for a day or two, then fall to pieces.
I'm all for economy, but Primark has proved to be a false economy in my opinion. Would be keen to know whether their towels stand the test of time though, and whether I've just been unlucky.::Quidco.com - £1100 in 11 months. Kerr-ching! ::0 -
I too would be interested to hear how you get on. I have some lovely JL towels that have lasted for years, I received them as a wedding present.
I have recently bought a few cheap bath towels from Tesco and the toweling loops seem to pull very easily and so I am left with lots of long threads hanging from my towels within a few days of use. This has not happened at all with my JL towels.0 -
no i agree with op primark towels are top knotch.we have had ours for 2 years nows and still going strong being washed every other day.as for john lewis their towels are obviously dearer so you get what you pay for is not always the case. Before you point fingers, make sure your hands are clean !;)0

I agree that Primarks luxury towels are very good. I buy them (and their normal range) for doing massage treatments and told my fellow college students about them too (holistic therapies course). It is very hard to get hold of the white or cream ones in the leeds store though! Not Buying It 20150

I've had a set of baby pink Primark towels and flannels over 4 years, lasted well, one flannel out of 5 has holes in
others are fine so it might be something i wiped up or got it caught! Towels have lost their colour a little and can be hard on first use out'v wash (also only use fabric cond 1/2 the time, I always 4get!)
2 bath sheets + 3 big towels + 1 medium towel + 1 hand towel + 5 flannels
Pretty sure this lot cost me under £30, but then again 4 years ago it cost me that much to fill up with petrol, so maybe they are £100+ now :rotfl:I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0 -
Using fabric softener on towels reduces their absorbancy.0

My Primark towels have lasted a long time, I agree about them feeling a little hard at first, but then again my ones from other stores feel a little like this too.0

primark are fine for cheap throwaway t shirts and fashion on a bargain. teens can save pounds and learn to shop economically at the same time.
for top quality goods though you do get what you pay for and undies, towels, sheets and pillowcases are best bought from M and S, IMHO.
cant afford to do that very often though!
those were the days.....................Keep trying.........................what else is there to do?

Primark is miles away from me so I've never really shopped there, but in defense of cheap towels...
Four years ago I brought the most expensive Debenhams range towels they did, after 6 months they were ropey and after 12 months they were horrible to use. So when I passed a Matalan when on travels I thought I may aswell pick up some in there to replace if the expensive ones were not lasting. Matalan do a cheaper and more expensive range. The 'pile' on the more expensive ones is obviously superior, but they were very cheap. My Malalan Towels still three years later look and feel like I have only had them a matter of months.
I know this is not primark related, but just wanted to say that the cheaper ones can sometimes be better0
