I agree with thelurch. Tesco coupon policy is so very good, let's not bring about the end of it by misuse.

There are loads and loads of acceptable coupons around at the moment. Search the forums for printable coupon, the magazine thread, the newspaper thread, and you will have a few Tesco spends in your pocket within the hour!

Please don't try 9 9 barcoded coupons in Tesco that have Asda/Somerfield/Sainsburys logo's on them - unless they are Spend & Save coupons with no product or range stated. The ones that say 'save £x when you spend £xx' are the only acceptable ones in Tesco.

Those banners outside Andover store sound like the Sainsburys ones they put up outside some Tesco Extras. AFAIK, none of these banners mean you can use Asda or Sainsburys coupons with a product stated on them. They mean you can use Spend & Save coupons from all major Supermarkets (as per Tesco policy). Nothing has changed there.

Trouble is, most 9 9 barcoded coupons scan at most Supermarkets, as they use the same system. That's not a reason to use unacceptable ones though, or to get one over on an unsuspecting cashier who will get in trouble later.

P.S. to the OP, nothing will happen to you. Just remember not to try this again as you will get caught, they 'police' self-scan quite closely for the very reason you stumbled upon, but once you'd gone they won't tie that coupon to your transaction.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ps I hope you remembered to collect you clubcard points when you did your shopping.:rotfl:

Hopefully not whilst using this voucher as you are instantly traceable by using your cc on the transaction. They can and do ban people for coupon abuse.
