Hi there,
I was wondering who does good, cheap laptops? I know of Dell etc but I don't know who is cheapest and best, and any discount sites or codes that may be available? I was also wondering which click-thru sites would get me the best cashback or points on any purchases I made, eg iPoints, eCashback etc. Finally, I was wondering other than PC world offering free Norton Antivirus with the purchase of an Office package, are there any even cheaper deals on this?
Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

No such thing as free Norton - it's a drawback, not a bonus!
Haggle with Dell, you might get lucky.IT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer

I've used Norton in the past when it was a very good software package. I now wouldn't install it on any pc even if it was free. It has good detection rates but it is too heavy on resources.
Cheap offer at moment is: http://www.dabs.com/ProductView.aspx?Quicklinx=4YJW&InMerch=1
You get £50 cashback and a good spec machine imo.

Thanks; it looks good but I am confused; it says it comes with no office but then it says it has windows vista; which is true, do you know?0 -
Both are true. Vista and office are seperate programs. Vista Home Premium is your operating system, office is your word processor/spreadsheet software. Sometimes laptops comes bundled with office but in this case it doesn't seem to.0

Vista is an Operating System and Microsoft Office is a Office Suite, They are both separate.
In most cases you would have to buy Office separate in addition to the computer purchase including PCWorld. Ignore the free Norton Offer. You better off using a free Antivirus such as Antivir or Avast.
If your a student you can get Office ultimate 2007 (worth around £500 retail) at a bargain from here but I'd hurry http://www.theultimatesteal.co.uk/0 -
