Problem sorted now thanks a lot!

  • You need to get your manager to call them. He may not be interested in your personal money, but this is money you are entitled to. If they had overpaid you they would want it back sharpish!

Do you work or a small company, or a large one? Have you tried calling your payroll office?

So you are down £1000, but it is too inconvenient for you to make a quick phonecall to your manager?

In the time you wrote that you could have made the call a few times over ...
    Gone ... or have I?

DMG i never said it was inconvenient to call them, it is inconvenient for them to put aside their work to call up about this, and act as a go between. As i went on to explain they will be discussing a third parties affairs without an interest so will not be as pushy in getting it resolved as i would be. So lets imagine that they call up HR give an unsatisfactory answer i ay no not good enough manager has to call back and pass on what i say they respond manager calls me etc etc....... you get what inconvenience is construed as now?? FYI I have made the call but all managers are in meeting hence the inconvenience......
  • Typical - trust them, eh!?
I'd call up Payroll personally. They need to sort this out asap - £1000 may not be a lot of money to them but it certainly would be to me, and it is to you!

I have tried nelly, but they wont discuss anything without my password and even their manager confirmed this.
If they overpaid me and called me to tell me they were going to debit me immediately do you think they would care i didnt have a password then?? Lol
If ever it happens i know what I will say hehe
  • Arrggh, how infuriating!

Have you asked them if they can give you some sort of loan to tide you over until they have the password?

That's just so awful they just underpay you like that and won't even talk to you about it!

At my work someone returning from mat leave did not get paid and not showing on store payroll system as she has not sent the relevant forms back to HR who then inform payroll that individual has returned from mat leave which sounds like what happened to you. They think you are still on mat leave, hence why paid you SMP.

I am a mgr and its my job to make sure my staff get paid correctly and deal with any payroll queries immediately its the worst thing to not be paid as basic thing to expect to be paid if worked your mgrs should do the same thing.
    Zoe
  • The Payroll at my work is atrocious. They overpaid me £500 the other month, and wanted it back straightaway.. Which is fine. Except they wanted the whole £500 when I had been taxed loads on it. Not impressed!
