Split with partner claiming benefits recently sold house

Hi,

I hope there#s someone who can give me a little advice

I split with my partner a short while ago and am currenlty not working as i had a baby in september and have three other children.

I am wondering if there's anyone who can give me some advice on the state of play where benefits are concerned, as have recently sold a house the proceeds of which are almost gone due to having to rent somewhere and not having a single thing to furnish the place for my kids and the ex unwilling to give me anything from the house until a car loan in his name is paid off. I can't afford to do this with out selling the car which i am trying to do currently.

I am hoping to get back to work very soon but am worried about how the fact that i've had money and its now gone will be treat.

Any advice would be greatly appeciated

Regards Amanda

  • Try putting your details into www.entitledto.com

If you have spent your money on renting and furnishings, I don't think this would be classed as delibeate deprivation of assetts so you should be OK there.
