USB extender cables - keeping the connection

Hi
I need to use 3x 5 metre USB extender cables to connect up to a camera, however, at the connections I am finding that the connection is easily broken as the weight of the cable is actually pulling the connection apart.
I thought lizard skins (the neoprene things) but I cannot find anything completely right for the application. I do not want to use anything adhesive either, such as tape. Is there anything out there specifically for this???

How about cling-film instead of adhesive tape?0

I'm pretty sure you can only get USB cables in 5m lengths, as you need to use repeaters to carry on the signal further, such as this item on eBay: 140207763004
They should be a reasonably tight fit, so if they are coming apart, there must be quite some weight on them. Some type of masking tape, or any type of tape which doesn't leave a residue would probably be best.
You could have a cable tie looped around the ends of each plug/socket (around the cable, tight enough not to let the plug/socket through. Then a couple more cable ties to pull the two sides together equally too.0 -

The wieght is the cables themselves, the usb extenders are connecting to my camera that sits at the top of a telescopic mast. The mast itself is extendable to 50ft (15 metres) so the extenders are supporting the connection and the wieght of the actual cable. A dependable connection needs to be made on many occassions, so that is why I want a secure connection that does not wear or age the equipment. I think ling film is too faffy (but thanks for the suggestion) as I need to make quick secure connections.0 -
I presume this is some kind of arial photo type thing?
If you wanted to invest a little you could go for a USB to Cat5 converter, this would allow you to extend up to 50M and have the secure connection of a RJ45.
They can be got for about £40 but I think could be worth it in your case. The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

I have sorted this problem by looping the ends of the wire and using cable ties so there is no pressure on the connections. Sorted. In future though when I need to replace I will go with Dime Bar's recommendation0

Aren't there any good wireless/Bluetooth usb extenders out there?0
