Dla? Is It Worth It?

Been receiving mobility DLA for a number of years.Had physio and stuff and can get about a bit more now, with lot of pain.Am coming to conclusion may just as well get in touch with DLA so my claim can be reviewed. Will there be a lot of hassle,do they back date if claim is stopped, or is it just stopped from now?
Judging from recent posts the DWP are stepping up the ante and giving people hassle over DLA.Am not sure its worth it.

You must inform them of any changes or it is classed as fraud. If you call them they will let you know what to do next, you need the 'if your condition has changed' selection when phoning the helpline. It is usually altered if required from the date they are notified of the changes.
One day I might be more organised...........

I think that sometimes this Board can give a bad impression of the DLA process because, like with most things, people only tend to post when they have a bad experience.

I'm certainly not saying that it is easy to get DLA, but perhaps that this board doesn't present the full picture. I would certainly be inclined to notify the DWP of your change in circumstances and continue your claim, rather than cancelling it x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • depending on the reason/s that you originally got mobility i would keep in mind that being in alot of pain whilst moving around would still qualify you,e.g. if walking any distance at all causes you"discomfort"(there word)that would be a start,if however you can manage more than 100 metres quite easily then you might not get it on those grounds alone
Another point would be when is your next review due?
But i`m not suggesting that you are anything other than 100% honest with them, also remember if you get the care component as well,a review of mobility can put that at risk of being changed/withdrawn

I'd have said it is worth it.

If you have a genuine claim, then you have little to worry about imo.

thanks for the advice. I have no review due,and there is no care component.
As long as when I contact them there is no aggro, even if it means that they disallow my claim from now, I would rather that than a knock on my door!
I still get a lot of pain and discomfort, but my walking is easier.
