Jenners Edinburgh

It was the day before christmas and I had some excess Bratz shoes left over from daughters birthday party (were using them in the party bags) so i took them back to Jenners of Edinburgh (the shop I purchased approx 15 sets from @£5.95 Each). unfortunately I lost the reciept or threw it in the bin and the toy department manager said they could only give me reciept and be sent a cheque. happy that they took them at all I accepted.
here's the bad part
I never questioned anything about it untill the middle of february as I thought they would be busy with the sale stuff. I phoned them on a number of occassions and sent them many emails and letters asking what is happening with my cheque but only ever got "someone will call you back", no replies to any letters or emails.
It was then 2 weeks ago today that I phoned them up eventually got through to an answer machine so I laid it on the line to them. I explained my situation then told them if I didn't here from them In 1 week's time then I would consult my lawyer as they owed me money.
That same night, after I went to work (about 4 o'clock) that someone called and left a message with my wife.
the next morning I called them on the number they had given to my wife,
Head of security he explained to me that the situation had been passed to him by the head of the toy dept. I asked why this was and he told me he didnt know but had to check the CCTV camera's for confirmation of the sale. Dont know what he was looking for I never gave a date of purchase or a description of myself for him to look for and unless there was an incident in store then i'm sure 8 months later there would be no tape for him to check. After a long discussion with him he then reffered me to the store manager, But the customer service operator would not let me speak to him instead put me onto the toy dept manager he too fobbed me off basically told me that Jenners had never sold that amount of shoes since they arrived in the shop I said B@LL@KS and told him this was not finished, He in not so many words called me a Thief just like the head of security seemes to be implying and took my details so he could send me the shoes back I explained that the shoes were now nearly a year old and asked what am i supposed to do with them he said Dont Know
Oh yes the person initially dealling with my (theft)/purchase no longer works at the store how convieniant
so all in all
Bought item from jenners
lost receipt and retured them to the store (delighted)
waited
waited
waited
phoned, sent emails, letters
waited

waited
threatend with lawyers
resolved within 24 hours
I now feel that they have brandished me a thief
left me with shoes I don't want/need
not even a sorry letter with the returned shoes
Thank you very much Jenners
anyway thought I would share this with all MSE users and ask does anyone know how to wright a top notch complaint letter if so could you please PM me so i can coplain to the manager that i was'nt aloud to speak to.

Did you pay cash or by debit/credit card?
Latter then you've proof that you made a purchase, know it won't detail the receipt, but worth a try to prove you didn't steal them

Jenners is now owned by House of Fraser. Try complaining to their head of Customer Relations (maybe mentioning this thread). There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.
