Where to advertise house for rent...

Hi all

Our last set of tennants trashed our house and moonlighted with the rent.

We have spent the last month fixing the damage and now need tennants asap.

Its with an agent, on gumtree, craigslist and a couple of other sites...am I missing any sites I should use??

Thanks

Sabrina

  • Craigslist is king, however, you can also try Backpage.com

    Hi Sabrina

I received an email from a company who list properties to rent on rightmove for private LL's today. They charge £25pm. Its run by
Ajay Ahuja, the property investor who writes articles and books on the topic. Not sure how good the deal is, but it appears to be the only way to get on rightmove without appointing an agent and dealing with their fees!

You could try googling him and it should turn up the website.

    Hope that helps

Other ideas might be more forthcoming if you say what area/type it is and who your target market are.

Sorry I didn't have chance to come back online last night.

Its a 2 bed Victorian terrace in really nice condition with a big garden and summer house.

Its on the London / Kent border which has had a lot of money pumped into it recently and is quite nice.

Its in Zone 6 but is only 35 min to London Bridge so good for commuters.

House ideally suits a couple or a couple with a child.

This is the ad on gumtee: http://www.gumtree.com/cgi-bin/show_posting.pl?posting_id=22317550

(if this breaks any rules I will remove asap)

My limited experience is that a short ad in the local paper produces lots more response than online sites and is a lot cheaper. Best £44 I've spent recently.
  • Use the local papers or even the free ones that they distribute at station entrances to the Underground. Please make sure you do all your credit checks etc etc etc before letting again tho...

moveflat.com is free and has a v good reputation among those who have used it. You have to supply a fair level of detail before they will let your ad on but it's not too strenuous!
