in Credit cards
Good old uncle barclay has just been looking after me.
He put a block on my credit card cos they picked up 3 internet transactions to the tune of £360 yesturday. Phew. Glad it wasnt more and glad he picked up on it. Barclays said that if the money actually shows up on my account that they will refund it.
I think thats good customer service.
Incidentally, its put the frighteners  on me using my cards. Someone got my number somehow. The only place i use it is for petrol and in Painsburys for shopping. Feel like going back to cash but then I need to use ATMs so am I any safer?
Well you know what they say .......... Trust no one

as you say trust no one!! the same thing happend to me, barclays phoned me within 8 hours of transcations going through a pdq machine in a shop between 1 and 3 am on a monday morning. they cancelled and reissued my card and removed the inital transactions off the bill.. however a further 3 transactions went through and were on the bill from the same store!! after 4 very long phone calls being passed from pillar to post and wrong department i was eventually told that they had not sent the dispute forms because they had forgotten to verify the address and put me through to another department - where a very rude lady questioned me on the fact that i had paid soliciters fees 2 years ago (searches for house purchase - initall cheque was lost by solicitor and credit card payment was the quickest way to proceed) and a parking fine 4 years ago - hardly criminal activity!! the forms arrived and had been returned by them as requested by return of post but i have still not heard from them in promised 10 working days .. so on my day off i will be having another long winded telephone tour of their various departments trying to sort out their mess and get what they promised me on the 25th feb..
good luck - i am not convinced they are the good guys anymore .. my card has always been in my possetion and the only time i have had anything to do with my card and the internet in paying my bill on their site!!! if there has been a breach of security on line it can only be from their site. my pin was not compramised in these transactions!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
