I was just looking through the admin control panel of a forum that is running the same/similar software as MSE. I couldn't see any option that allows the admins to see previous registered email addresses.

But just because I couldn't find it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist or isn't possible.;)

That could be especially true for MSE, since they seem to be using quite a customised version of the software.

I'm sure if the admins can in any way confirm that she is the correct and original owner of that account then they will. :)

mumzyof2 is still waiting for a rely to 2 emails that she has sent.I have also emailed webmaster@moneysavingexpert.com.

If anyone else knows who we should be emailing can they let us know please.

I know mumzyof2 could re register and get a new name but she'd like to keep her name and the reputation she's built up.Surely thats possible.

have now emailed furtherhelp@moneysavingexpert.com as this was suggested in my standard reply email.

  • Hi Folks

Bit of a curious one, this. I've found mumzyof2's account and ensured everything is activated and in the right place. I've also sent her an email reminder of her username and password which should arrive at her registered email address (in this case it's a hotmail one - to ensure we check the right one).

Mollymop5, do you mind acting as a go between and checking to see if that's helped? Let me know one way or another.

Shes still struggling.... she can read the threads as you dont need to be a member but still not able to log in?

She hasn't got the new email, we are thinking someone has hacked her account as its showing as her having logged in over last few days?

Is she checking the hotmail account registered with her account? No posts have been made since 4th Apil, so it seems odd that an account would be hacked just to log in and out.

Could you ask her to email us from her registered account to so we can ensure security and we will see what we can do.
