Loft Insulation for building regs

I need to insulate my loft roof as i am making it into a bedroom, I have been told to get kingspan. But I have a couple of questions,

How thick should it be???

Where is the best place to buy??

Is there a cheaper alternative that will pass build regs???

Cheers

We used Extratherm, much cheaper than Kingspan, but similar insulation properties.

The thickness will be whatever the architect specifies - probably 100mm.

Other more clever Moneysavers will be along in a minute, to let you know!!
