No Bill from New Supply

Hi All

We moved into a old house about 2 years ago which did not have gas supplied, we arranged to get a supply installed which at great expense £3000, was finally switched on in Dec 2006. We are with British Gas and have been regulary chasing for over a year now to get a bill as we have not received anything in 17 months of supply. They keep telling us there is a new system being set up to deal with new customers and we will be receiving one soon.
We have not set up a direct debit and waiting for this bill before we can give them anything but have had mentioned that they can not bill us anything over 12 months worth, if so does this sound like something we would have a case for and is there any evidence for the 12 month thing online.

i'm with bg too, and change over to them 2 years ago. we rec'd one bill then they change the meter and have heard nothing from them since!
i first noticed we hadn't had a bill 9 months after the first bill, and as we had no money i didn't follow it up. since then we have been saving the money up in a separate account , so if/when they finally notice i can pay them. btw they still come out to read my meter

If a bill hasn't been raised - which is not the same as you not having received a bill - they can only back-bill you 12 months.
