ARTICLE DISCUSSION: Ebay selling tricks

Woah thanks for all these. I'm just updating the article with all of them, but then I'm going to merge this with the general eBay selling discussion to clean this thread up a bit.
This is just so when we put the link to discuss eBay exporting in the weekly email, it's easier to read.
Thanks again!

Thanks Jenny, is the link going in this weeks email as we can prepare ourselves to answer lots of questions from new ebay users, the more the merrier I say! I can also get the Amazon, Playtrade and Ebid threads ready to be bumped if necessary.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Soolin. It is, in theory, going to be included in this week's email. That's not to say it won't get moved to next week at the last minute though!0 -

I was just reading through Martin's mail tips for this week :money: and found myself on this thread
so I think it's safe to say you should prepare yourselves for any questions

I read the article, went 'doh' as it never occured to me to host my own pictures (I use Photobucket) and had a go at adding more pictures.
I can't get it to work thoughClicking on 'add pictures' and choosing 'self hosting' works fine. However if I add another picture it simply replaces the first one
I tried pasting the html code into my ebay html but then it just showed up as html coding in a page of text!
I am obviously going very wrong somewhere but can anyone tell me where (please!)?
Hi there.. I use photobucket too.. you can add photos to your description box... there are 2 tabs on the description box one for standard and one for HTML. select the HTML tab and paste in the HTML code for your photo from photobucket, the code will then appear in text. Then press the standard tab and hey presto your photo should appear..!!! Then just write what text you want on the standard page.. You can add as many pictures as you like... I usually put in all my text first on the standard page, then leave loads of returns for where I want photos to appear and then click on the HTML tab to input all my photos, you should be able to make out the codes for the returns..!! Hope this helps..!!0 -
anyone know how to ship a windscreen? I have a rare windscreen I wish to sell on eBay, I need however to list prices for shipping to most areas in the world, does anyone know a company to use for packing , shipping and export? the cheaper the quotes the better!0

Paypal will only accept Proof of Delivery in order to win a dispute, not Proof of Postage
Problem - I find it impossible to get proof of delivery. In communication with my buyer in France I find that:
'Airsure' was not signed for
'Overseas signed for' was not signed for
Royal Mail CAN NOT track beyond the UK shore.
(Quote 'Your item ... has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in FRANCE.)
i.e CAN NOT provide the service for which they charge.
Even with inland post, I have received several items over the last few years by registered post for which I have had no opportunity to sign. My own birth certificate, being returned, was left outside on the door step. I have complained to Royal Mail but it is a black hole.
So where do we go from here?0 -
