British woman having baby in Poland, any help available?

My friend is having a baby in Poland with her Polish partner (she is British).

Will she be eligible for anything like child trust fund or child benefits? We can't seem to find out here. Thanks for any advice.

Child benefit is payable if a parent is working and paying NI in the UK.

Can't honestly think anything will be payable if the parents are both in Poland.

Where is she classed as being resident?

Conor you have just made yourself look a complete muppet.

Where someone is physically living and where someone is resident for tax and benefit purposes are completely different things.

Get your facts right before being so rude.

  • She could be in Poland on a temporary basis, Conor.
