Reading the thread regarding the estate agent trying to sign all his tenants to one supplier, has given me an idea.

Everyone on here, as a unit would have bargaining power, a bit of leverage.

If we all banded together and approached suppliers stating the facts :

We are 5,000 (+) domestic customers and wish to sign a collective deal.

We want an umbrella agreement, which we will all abide by (something like a co-operative?).

"Membership" of the co-operative would have to have rules. DD paid on time etc. from their point of view.

But imagine the input we would have from our own perspective.

One of our members has a problem.

We try to resolve it on here, and if we can't we all change suppliers en bloc!

Works in a business environment. Collectively, we would have some muscle!

Small disclaimer :

This is just an idea. I am setting up a business assisting SME's, I don't want anything to do with the function of this, I am just proposing the idea!

That might save it getting shot down in flames!

Now i think this is a good idea, and could work on so many other areas too...

When you say you are setting up a business assisting SME's do you mean assisting them with their energy supplies or something else?

Query resolution, invoices, tariffs, contracts etc. I can't assist with debt, as SME's in debt are trading illiquid.

It will be funded by Utility providers as they have to pay to access the data we hold.

I will bounce my original post up.
