    Well, I've left it for a few hours now. I'm going to reassemble it all and see what happens.

    Forgot to say, it may be hard to start because the fuel will have washed the oil from the bores so the compression will be a bit on low side.

    I cleaned off the spark plugs with a wire brush and then put it all back together and it worked!
    I can't really explain why it was flooded though.
