Problems with 18866 and 1899

I was a user of these services and saved a lot of money. Then as I was suppose to be moving house i cancelled my subscription with them. Anyway to cut a long story short I did not move and tried to re-register but was told I could not and had to wait for 6 weeks before trying again. This I have done but the same message has come back.. I did email them and they just said due to high capicity i would have to wait 6 weeks.

has anyone else had problems registering with them?

First of all register a mobile number. Then once accepted go back and add your landline. This usually does the trick.

  • There is no contact number for 18866/1899/18185. You can only email them which I must admit seems to be hit or a miss but thats the price you pay for such cheap phone calls ;)

Just about to start using 18866. Is it possible to put 18866 as an entry in your phone, then use the phonebook service on the handset, followed on by phone number? Also sorry to be doubting but is the 2p connection 24 hours a day? If so BT Together option 1 and 18866 combined sounds the best for me.

Not sure about your handset, but sounds like it will work.
Yes option 1 paid by DD £!0.50 per month, 18866 and 1899 and maybe 18185 for 0870 numbers, and TalkTalk plan 1 for free weekend calls for life to 01/02 numbers, and yes the 2p conn 0p per min is 24/7 for landline calls

If you sign upto TalkTalk for calls only (not linerental) then you wont notice any difference except cheaper calls as what happens is that calls will automatically be routed & billed by TalkTalk unless you specifically dial the indirect access code of 18866.

Unfortunately though, TalkTalk only do free weekend calls upto 70mins in length per call. If you were to use Tele2 or JustDialSaver Lite which are doing free evening & weekend calls.

Tele2 is a limited offer until the end of this year, whereas JustDialSaver isn't. Also JustDialSaver do capped calls to mobiles under 20minutes.

You can still use Call18866, or any other call provider with either of the above.

You don't need Talk Talk if you are using Just Dial Saver.

    As you suggest
    BT for line rental
Just Dial Saver for evening & weekedn
    Call18866 for daytime
