Specialist glass - noise reducing; self cleaning ?

We are having our house exended. The new extension will be very close to the road and a pub. If we can afford it, we would like to put noise reducing glass and possibly self cleaning glass (one pain of each in the double glazed units) in the windows of the extension. Has anyone had any experience of how these products perform? Are they worth the money? Or does anyone know of any other websites that have forums specifically to do with building work? Any advice very greatfully received. Thanks ktj.
