Large Sofa ,how best to remove

My sofa is quite big and was a nightmare to get it in my home , in end had to take window out and pay for someone to fit it back in , i prefer not to do this again if i can.

Sofa i sonly a year old , but does not match my current colour sceme hence it needs to go .

Is there anyway i can cut it up easy?? its probably going to be a nightmare but any advice on how to remove it will be helpful.

wanted to give it to friends but i cant see any other way for me to get it out apart from destroying the sofa , will it be hard to cut up? , really not looking forward to it at all :(

only a year old? Why not have a loose cover made for it? Much cheaper than buying an entire new sofa and you don't even need to move it.
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

Agree with the above; talk about a throwaway society!
I have a truly hideous chair that is so comfortable that I can't just get rid of it, so I bought a beautiful real silk throw from Ebay for a couple of pounds and now people comment on what a lovely chair it is!

Just leave it on the pavement. It'll be gone soon enough.

Would your friends be willing to pay for the window to be removed in exchange for the sofa? Is the new one smaller or how are you going to get that in?

If you turn it upside down and take the cover off the bottom, you will get access to the framework. If you study it, its possible to semi- collapse it which would mean you would be able to get it out through the door in question.

Equally, if you want to give it to someone, it should be easy enough to reassemble the frame that you took apart earlier............. evryones happy then.....
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

You can take the fabric off and then saw up the wooden frame but it makes me cringe to say it - it just seems so wasteful. I would try and offer it to someone if they would pay for the window to be removed (or sell it and include the cost of the window removal in the price). I would certainly consider paying that in return for a year old sofa. Does anyone know what happens to old sofas? do they end up in landfill?
