Hello.
I would welcome a little advice...
I have a A&L Premier Direct current account, which has a paltry rate.
I see that new Premier Direct and Premier current holders can access other high interest Regular Savings and ISAs.
Is there anything an existing customer can access these accounts?
I'm closing my account if not!
Thank you in advance.

No - you are correct on what you must do. The general rule is that you have to close an A&L current account and wait at least 3 months before reapplying.
I'm currently in the process of leaving A&L and have downgraded my Premier Direct account to a standard current account, can I wait 3 months from the downgrade or do I still need to close this then wait 3 months if I wanted to benefit from any of their advertised extras0 -
What's the interest rate on older Premier Direct accounts? By old does this mean older than 1 year? Sorry being lazy, should look at A&L site really
Will have to keep this in mind when my A&L account gets older...0 -

), I believe it's BOE - 1%...so 4% at the moment.
It isn't exactly "1 year". Your account will have a particular end date for the higher 6.5/8.5% rate).0 -

I have had a Premier Direct Current Account for just under one year and have just recently opened an Esaver with them (6.50%) and an Direct ISA 4 (6.25%)0 -
Cheers YB. Yes it looks like I'll be switching when the 6.5% rate drops. Only just got around to switching DDs and payments 3 months after signing up as well which is slightly annoying. Real shame that, 6.5% is very nice compared to the paltry 0.1% at Lloyds!0
