  • for our wedding we printed colour in pictures from the internet (cat ones only as we had a cat theme) and bought some of them plastic pen things which have numerous coloured nibs.

We had a quiz which everyone could enter during the meal with wedding/us related questions ie which is an anagram of our MIDDLE names/where did the proposal happen/how many cats do all the guests own in total/who at the wedding has been married the longest etc etc - kids went mad for it as they finished eating before everyone else

Also gave each of them a paper fortune teller thing (the folded paper where you pick number then colour) and a square piece of paper so they could make their own.

We also used Tesco party favours - ball, fortune telling fish and a few other things I can't remember.

To keep them entertained we had a games section with giant jenga, guess who and a few other games - these can be borrowed from friends with kids or bought fairly cheaply @ places like Home Bargains. We also took an air hockey table but insisted the adult couples all play each other first for custody of the remote the next day.

All the kids had a great time and a lot of the parents thanked us for keeping them busy and out of their hair!

If you're looking to do things on the cheap then I seriously recommend colouring printed from t'internet, paper fortune tellers and a games area with big games in.

All the kids were sat together
