can someone please point me in the right direction!
i have been having problems with the wtc about overpayments.
basically, the last 4 letters i have recieved all have different amounts on them, ranging for £1200 owing, to the latest of £5000..
i have wrote to them, and all i got was another bill saying that it was overpayed, and that i have no right to appeal. i have given them all the information about my partners and my earnings, and then asked for proof showing that we owe that money, but once again, they just send another bill!!
what the hell do i do now??????
i cannot afford £5000, where do i go form here???
please help.....

You need proper legal advice. Keep everything they've sent you and get down to your local CAB.0

Hi I would go to the cab but they are two options if you do not have a right to appeal. You can claim that by paying the money back will cause you hardship, you will need to send an expenditure sheet and be prepared for them to ask you personal questions about your spending. If they reject this then you can ask them to allow you to pay it over a longer period. Reply with recorded mail keeping a copy of your letters. For furure ref make sure you record the dates and times you have spoken to TC and the name of the person.0

Hi...purplechunky31
You can appeal against any overpayment, but the HMRC dont want you to do that it makes them seem.. incompetent..if you have supplied all the information you needed to, salary changes, ect..it seems it may be their fault..
ok.. this site will tell you what to do...

there is also a forum here http://familytaxcredit.forumco.com/default.asp
the HMRC tax credit office will lie to you..and use any trick in the book to try to stop you from taking this further..dont put up with it
Complain..complain to your MP... go to the CAB they deal with 150,000 cases every year, concerning overpaymnets..1.9 million payments are overpayed .9 million are underpayed. from atotal off 5.3 million this is shocking..0 -
180 you can not automatically appeal against some overpayments, it depends but the cab will be able to look at it and let you know (I work at the CAB and dealt with a similar case to the ops)0
