Hi,
can you claim child tax credits from the day your child is born?
Do they take into account, smp? and maternity scheme payments from your employer? Thanks
i am entitled to smp for 39 weeks plus 12 weeks half pay if i go back to work for a minimum of 13 weeks

Yes the CTC should be backdated to the DOB of the child, but you should apply within 3 months of the birth.
You can disregard the first £100 p/w you receive in SMP. So you would deduct £3900 from the gross amount on your P60.0
