mystery plant

I've got a plant in my greenhouse that began to grow last September amongst my tomatoes. It's survived over the winter and is now roughly 2 foot high and flowering with tiny wee bright yellow flowers like buttercups. The look of the plant is Euphorbia, leaves are pinnate, sage green colour and 4 inches long with pale mid-rib, arranged in cruciform alignment. I'm no good at gardening technical wording so hope I'm not misleading you. The main stem is now a ruby red colour and very sturdy. I've tried looking it up and the nearest I've come to is "Honey Spurge", though the flowers are yellow not brown. I can't detect a scent either. Can anyone suggest a name for this please?

    Maybe a globeflower?

It does sound like a euphorbia, some of which can grow rapidly. It's certainly not a troillus if it only started to grow in September. (I sowed mine in September and they are now 1cm tall!)

The rate of growth suggests something annual, especially as it's flowered in about 6 months. Honey spurge couldn't do that from a standing September start, unless your greenhouse is semi tropical! The Mole Plant could, but it doesn't do yellow flowers.....I'm beaten!

Sorry, I don't know how to do photo's. I'll just go and look up your suggestions and come back later. It's definately not something i sowed so it must have come in from the compost I got from the council a year ago.

I still think it is a Euphorbia, rather like "fireglow" but the flowers are buttercup yellow. I'll try and get one of my kids to do the photo stuff this w/e and you can have a look. Cheers guys.
