Working Holiday Australia

Hi Guys,
I may be being made redundant from my job and have some savings stashed away and thought about taking this oppurtunity to get away for a while, 6 months or so, on a working holiday in Australia.
Basically I wanna live by the beach in the sunshine in Oz for a while maybe working in a bar in the evenings or doing some sort of sporty related job during the day and then go exploring some sites every few weekends - Ive had a quick look on the internet and there are loads of companies offering this sort of stuff and gap year type activities.
Basically I wanted to know if any of you guys have experiance of this type of thing - what sort of costs are invovled and if its possible to break even by working when you are out there?
Cheers

Unless things have changed you need a J1 working holiday visa to do this legally.
These are easy to come by, cost around £95 when I got one ten years ago, but you have to be under 30.
You can then work in any one job for no more than three months before moving on to the next job.
The visa lasts for 12 months from entry into Oz.0
