I'm a new Mint CC customer and have today set up my Direct debit. My first payment is due according to my statement by the 10th May.
I'm a bit worried that the DD wont be setup in time and payment being made late to Mint.
Could this be a possibilty or am I worrying unnecessarily..?
I've worked so hard recently to repair my credit I dont want this to go wrong right at the start!

Thanks as usual
F.

should be ok but you can always call your bank on the day to confirm it has gone out.

is 10th May the deadline for the credit card payment? I normally set dd date for a few days earlier so there is a gap if the bank messes up or something.

Actually thats a good question. My statement just says payment due date 10th May?

In that case when should my first payment leave my account to be safe?

Under the terms of the DD guarantee they have to give you at least 10 days notice of both the amount and date.

They do this via your statement, so if the message "your minimum payment [of £xx.xx] will be collected from your nominated account on xx/xx/xx" is not on your statement you MUST pay by other means.

That would be too late, and would mean a £12 charge would be incurred.

I think you're getting confused between standing orders (SO's) and direct debits (DD's).
