1/2 price MOTs!
Now this is my very first post, so be gentle with me (and if this is in the wrong place then I apologise profusely)
When I went into Somerfield in Keynsham nr Bristol today, I looked at the back of my receipt (god only knows why, I dont normally) and there is a 1/2 price MOT voucher for Saltford Motor Services.
So all you need to do is buy something at Somerfield in Keynsham and keep your receipt :T
(The dealers website is https://www.saltfordmotors.co.uk )
Coincidentally my sisters car needs an MOT doing so i'm calling them tomorrow!

Does anyone ever have their MOT done at a college or similar? A college near me says in their course brochure that the training facility does MOTs.
I wondered if it would be cheaper because they are training, in the same way as sometimes you can get free haircuts if you have it done by a trainee.
But who is allowed to do MOTs?0 -

An authorised examiner, who could be an individual or a company, and who will normally apoint persons called Nominated Testers to carry out the tests on their behalf. At the moment there is a national shortage of testers which VOSA is attempting to address...so if anyone fancies a career change.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
So could the students be nominated testers? I wouldn't mind that, if it was under the watchful eye of the authorised examiner.0

The student could accompany the NT while doing the test, however they would not be signing off the test cert.
You may wish to try and get a garage to sponsor you if you have the background. Have a look at VOSA's site for some ideas...http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/mottestersgarageowners/becominganominatedtester/becominganominatedtester.htmDon’t be a can’t, be a can.0
