eBay moving towards free insertion fees!

Plenty of Powersellers on the ebay discussion board are certainly going down the route of their own website - it's pretty easy to set one up now, and much more cost effective as a selling outlet. eBay is being used as a method to gain new customers and drive traffic to these websites.

There are so many possible variations in what could happen, but one thing's for certain and that is that ebay is very conscious of it's shareholders, and can not afford to upset them.

The Corporation is killing the Community....

I'm in the process of setting up my own auction site, just as a bolt on to the website, and not as any sort of competitor to ebay/tazbar etc.

All in inc design is only about £1k.

My main worry is that if any other auction venue does become attractive to the hobby sellers ebay is ditching, ebay will simply take them over, as they have with half.com, craigslist, gumtree, mobil.de etc...

All ebayers are equal, but some are more equal than others...
