I have just bought a mk5 fiesta 1.3
When i got the car it was leaking anti freeze from the thermostat.
So decided to get a new thermostat and swap it over which i did.
the thermostat looked slightly difference, but it fitted ok,
i didnt bleed the thermostat, but seemed to take alot of fluid, since I did it I have not ahd any heating.
can this just be the wrong thermostat.... as it came witha gasket that didnt fit, i just used liquid gasket.
the pipes all seem hot so think water is in the radiator... i was told to run the car on tick over with the expansion top off, untill it got hot, but the water in the tank has still not gone done
any advice appreciated

Where did you buy the thermostat from?
There may be an air pocket at the thermostat, try running the engine with the coolant reservoir cap off, and massaging the pipes into the radiator to 'burp' any air up.0 -
You need to fill the system with the heater set on full, and to run the engine with the coolant cap off (can put a cloth over to prevent splashes) until the radiator fan has turned on then turned off. Wait till cooled and top up coolant to proper level.0

mk5 Fiesta - Possibly the heater control valve?
Not sure if it's the same as Puma/Ka/mk4? Fiesta0
