Tesco Clubcard Deals on Eurostar

Options
Thinking of doing a weekend to Paris on Eurostar with Clubcard deals, are there any catches or is it better to spend them on other things?

    I've been Money Tipped!
From what I can see you can't use the clubcard vouchers to book over the internet, have to book over the phone so you don't get as good a deal. Still, you are getting four times the value of your vouchers than spending them in Tescos on groceries.

Click on "How do I spend" and "travel" for info on Eurostar deal.

Come on, there must be someone out there who has spent their clubcard vouchers on a Eurostar ticket.

In the new clubcard deals brochure (August 2005 - February 2006) you cannot use the Vouchers for Eurostar anymore.

Indeed, the deals in the new brochure are, IMO, very poor and do not offer anywhere near as many alternatives as previously. No more holidays on offer, only Hilton and Marriott Hotels or Airmiles if you want to get away!!!

    Very poor offerings from Tesco!!

Waster -- you've made the same mistake as me. The brochure you received with your Clubcard mailing is much thinner than the one you can pick up in store. There, you'll find the Eurostar deal!
  • I went to paris on the Eurostar using tesco vouchers. There was no catch however the value of your journey must not exceed a normal £99 ticket.

It was all really straight forward. Just follow the instructions. If I remember correctly you receive a eurostar voucher valid for a specific period. Mine was 6 months I think. then you just use this to book.

    enjoy!

I picked up the one I am referring to instore during the past week. As far as I could see there were no other brochures on show. The cover is predominantly brown. What does the “thicker” one look like?

I converted my club cards vouchers from tesco to airmiles last year and used them to book to go to paris on eurostar, its was a lot of miles though! I could only get off peak week day travel though.

just for info, eurostar still shows up as available with clubcard deals on the website - no hint that its being stopped tho they have made it quite difficult to find.
    go to
    http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/clubcard/index1.htm
select 'how do i spend clubcard vouchers?'
    then 'deals'
then put in the number of vouchers / points you have - invent a big number if you want to see all the deals cos they only show you ones you can afford and click 'show me some great deals'
eurostar appears about halfway down page.

Do they have blackout dates, or is it any date as long as it is £99 or less?

I was considering this but regular cheap tickets from eurostar.com are £59, not £100 (clubcard website states that £25 in clubcard vouchers equals the £100 'leisure seat'), so obviously not as good as if you could get a £59 ticket for 15 approx clubcard vouchers.

I did book £89 seats with £25 deal tokens going on 29th April, 1.10 pm was the earliest train available, returning 15.10 on 2nd May. So pleased to have saved £64.
