Mechanical Remote Thermostatic Timer

Hello Everyone!

A newbie to the forum ;) and I wondered if anyone out there could help me? I have searched the forums but can't find the answer I'm looking for...

Our boiler is in the loft (recently moved) and we have a remote control timer in the lounge. Its a Worcester MT10 with two thermostatic temperature wheel settings for day and night. Now that the weather is getting warmer we would like to adjust the timer settings to the evening only - for a couple of hours.

The clock face has those little peg teeth around it that you move INwards for daytime settings and OUTwards for night settings. There does not seem to be an option for INBETWEEN - ie for it to be off.

Does anyone know how I set the pegs so that it doesn't come on in the day time? As far as I can tell there's either night or day! If I move the pegs outwards to come on from 7pm till 9pm and all the other pegs are left in the IN setting (close to the centre dial) am I right in thinking that when I s
turn the switch to 'timer' its on all day?! I've read the instructions over and over and just can't seem to fathom them out...

Maybe someone out there has a similar one that could help me? I'm wondering if perhaps I just turn the day temperature right down to its lowest setting (5oC) - but surely its still on and costing me money!!

Apologies if this has come up before - can you point me in the right direction? We keep coming home to a very warm house at the moment. Not fun if its costing me bucks!!!

Many thanks :D

  • day time = on should be set to 21degrees
night time = off should be set to 5degrees
i think you might have them set the wrong way round.
although these clocks do have a history of going faulty
  • Thank you! I hadn't thought about doing it that way 'round. Doh!! I'll give it a try ... :rotfl:
