A quiet oven

We currently have a "built under" gas oven. It says "Stoves" on the front, but I reckon it was probably made by Boeing! Once it gets going it's really very noisy. It wasn't cheap either - it was their top model.

Does anyone know whether there's a built under double oven (either gas or electric - we can cope with both), but which is whisper quiet? I'm not really limited by budget, but at the same time not really interested in lots of features - just an oven that heats up and cooks, quietly!

Any ideas?

Are you sure it's working properly?

I have a Stoves gas oven and it is whisper quiet. If it's fan assisted then maybe the fan has come a bit loose and is rattling around.

I would ring Stoves for advice or call an engineer to look at it, sounds dodgy to me...

Yeah - we've had the Stoves engineer out about half a dozen times for various faults. Each time we've asked them about the noise and they say its normal.

I'll never buy another Stoves again - from what I've seen they are a big heap of junk. And this one was one of their top of the range models. God only knows what the cheaper ones are like.
